Tana Keeffe, Chairman of the Board

Tana spent seven years in the technology industry, working both in sales and business development. Currently she is a Realtor with the Vienna Long and Foster office on a team with her mother, Debbie Earman and sister, Brett Cordeau. When employed at Network Solutions, Tana was the Chairperson for the Community Action Committee. The CAC gave her an opportunity to work with many organizations, non-profits, individuals and events within the Northern Virginia communities and to help those in need.

Tana currently lives in Vienna with her husband Doug and son Alex. She grew up playing Vienna sports and attending Vienna schools. She cherishes the memories the community has provided her and looks forward to creating new ones with her own family.

Joan Fletcher, Past Chairman of the Board

“I love to be part of making a positive difference in a business and/or an individual. One of my goals years ago was to work full-time doing what I love. I have met this goal!”

The founder of Winning Ways, Inc., Joan Fletcher has 20 years of in-depth experience in performance improvement. She opened her own company in 1987, so her leadership, sales and speaking experience comes first-hand as well as from working with clients in a variety of industries.

She has conducted hundreds of training sessions for groups throughout the DC area in focusing on improved performance, goal setting and goal achievement and is recognized as an excellent motivational speaker.

Joan’s enthusiasm, energy and experience are evident from the first meeting to the last training session. She is passionate about her work, and loves to see her clients’ increased satisfaction and effectiveness after identifying their core goals and values. Her belief in the Winning Ways processes is apparent in how she conducts business day-to-day. She is creative and able to tailor her approach to a particular company’s needs, and she is willing to take risks to help you achieve your goals. Those who have gone through her training programs enjoy her facilitation skills and her ability to make each participant feel valued and listened to. The corner piece of her skill is her ability to get results.

Joan is an active board member in the Vienna-Tysons Regional Chamber of Commerce and the chairman of the board of directors. She also was the chairman of the 57th, 58th and 59th annual Halloween Parade which draws 35,000 people. She is an active member of the Fairfax INOVA Children’s Hospital Development Committee and is an honorary ambassador in northern Virginia for Business Networking International. She spends her personal time with her husband and two children. She also devotes a significant amount of time working with families living in poverty.

Rich Irons, Incoming Chairman of the Board
Vice President, Fundraising

Rich has been in banking his entire career to date, totaling 18 years in the Northern Virginia market. His banking career includes concentrations in Retail Banking, Banking Technology and Commercial Services. Currently, Rich serves as the Vice President and Financial Services Manager for Citizens Bank’s newest location in Tysons Corner. Since 2003 Rich has served on the VTRCC Casino Night Committee and has been a regular supporter of the chamber and its mission to serve the business community.

Rich lives in Falls Church with his wife Lisa (also a banker) and his three daughters, Kaitlyn, Julia and Megan. Both Rich and Lisa grew up in Arlington, Virginia graduating from Radford University and George Mason University respectively. In addition to spending time with his family, Rich enjoys mountain biking, golf and racquetball.

Kathy Jensen, Treasurer

Kathy has 20 years of tax experience, including nine years with the largest accounting firms in the country. Her expertise includes international tax, tax preparation and planning for C and S corporations (including multi-state corporations), partnerships, and high wealth individuals. She has served clients ranging in size from large multinational Fortune 500 companies to small business owners.

Knowledgeable in international tax issues, Kathy has developed international tax planning ideas for clients, including a leading Fortune 500 retailer. She has managed a large Real Estate Investment Trust with a complex structure involving 14 partnerships, and formulated and implemented tax strategies for corporations in the retail and real estate industries. Kathy also has experience implementing small business start-ups.

Kathy is a Certified Public Accountant in the Commonwealth of Virginia. She earned a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration at the University of Richmond and a Masters of Science in Taxation at the University of New Haven.

In addition to serving the VTRCC Board of Directors, Kathy is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Greater Washington Society of CPAs.

Diane Poldy, President*

Before joining the Chamber, Diane served The Women's Center as Financial Literacy Program Manager. Her responsibilities included coordinating grant-funded financial literacy programs at non-profit and other agencies in the metropolitan DC area, program and curriculum development, establishment of partnerships with financial and professional organizations, and networking and community outreach to advance financial literacy in the area.

Diane earned an MA in Gerontology and Long Term Care Management and Administration from Naropa University in Boulder, CO. Diane has worked with the National PACE Association, a preventive, primary, acute and long term care service program that enables low-and moderate-income seniors to continue living in the community. Previously, she worked as the administrator of a financial planning organization in Washington, DC. and was the administrator/manager for a family therapy training and counseling group in Chevy Chase, MD.

Diane lives in Fairfax, VA, and spends any free time she has with her four grandchildren, all living in the local area. She also is a member of the Fairfax chapter of Zonta International, an organization of professional women working to improve the status of women worldwide.

Steve Salley, Vice President, Programs

Steve is a Financial Advisor and Financial Planning Specialist in the McLean, Virginia office of Smith Barney. By providing trusted advice to individuals, families and corporations, he seeks to help his clients achieve their specific goals by helping them avoid common mistakes with their overall financial picture and by thoroughly listening to each of their concerns. Steve was born in Connecticut and raised in western Pennsylvania. He graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and began his professional career as a teacher with Fairfax County Public Schools. He began his career as a financial advisor seven years ago.

Steve serves as the Vice President of Programs for the Vienna-Tysons Regional Chamber of Commerce. He is also actively involved with Business Network International, the Heavy Construction Contractors Association of Northern Virginia and several other organizations in the area.

Steve and his wife Lisa have been married for 15 years and have three sons, Benjamin, Zachary and Alexander. In his free time, he enjoys spending quality time with his family (playing with lots and lots of Legos), reading and thinking about their next getaway to Cape Cod.

Roy J. Baldwin, Chair, Government Affairs

Roy has practiced law in Fairfax County for more than 30 years. He is the founder of The Baldwin Law Firm, LLC, a small law firm in Oakton which deals with family law issues (divorce, child custody and visitation, support, division of property, etc.) and estate planning and administration (wills, living trusts, etc.).

He has resided in Vienna since 1980 with his wife Sharon, who is the owner of the Sharon Baldwin Voice Studio. His son Nathaniel attended James Madison High School and recently graduated from The College of William & Mary.

Billy Thompson, Vice President, Membership

Billy has been in the moving business since 1969. In 1976, Billy decided to build his own moving business and for nearly 30 years he has successfully led All Star Movers. All Star Movers (Agent for national Van Lines) is a full service moving company located in Merrifield providing residential and commercial moving to any destination in the world.

All Star Movers has been recognized by Washington Consumer Checkbook and Washington Business Journal for providing outstanding service. In addition in June of 2005, All Star Movers was the recipient of the Vienna Tysons Regional Chamber of Commerce's 2005 Business of the Year Award.

In addition to his Vienna-Tysons chamber activities, Billy is involved with Vienna Rotary, PNA, Greater Merrifield Businessmans Assc., Team Network and the Fairfax County and Virginia Hispanic Chambers of Commerce. Billy is a mentor in the Fairfax County "Be-Friend Program"(similar to Big Brothers) and also serves on Governor Warners Small Business Advisory Board and the Tysons Corner Transportation and Urban Design Committee.

Billy has been a resident of Vienna since the 1950's where he resides with his wife Pamela. Billy has two adult daughters, Erin and Julie, and is the doting grandfather of Sarah. Billy's hobbies include all sports (he roots for the home teams) and enjoys golfing, singing and piano.

Jerry Magri, Chair, Membership Services

Jerry Magri is the owner of Magri & Associates, Inc., an independent financial planning firm specializing in retirement and employee benefit planning as well as compensation and estate planning for business owners and executives. He has been active in the financial planning field since 1983. Jerry is a graduate of Virginia Tech, and also holds the Chartered Financial Consultant and Chartered Life Underwriter certifications from the American College in Bryn Mawr, PA.

In addition to serving on VTRCC Board, Jerry is also active in local community service and charitable organizations, having served both as a member and in leadership positions over the years.

Jerry lives in Vienna with his wife, Ann. Both enjoy travel, family activities, and share passions for college football and fine wine.

Kevin McCoy, Chair, Membership Development

Kevin B. McCoy is a management labor & employment attorney with the firm of Kruchko and Fries in Tysons Corner. Kevin is a graduate of the Valparaiso School of Law in Valparaiso, Indiana, and he earned his Bachelor's degree from Emory & Henry College in Virginia. Prior to joining Kruchko & Fries, he was a member of the Labor and Employment Law Section at Locke Reynolds, LLP in Indianapolis, Indiana, and served as a Judicial Law Clerk for both the Illinois and Indiana Courts of Appeal. Kevin is admitted to practice in Indiana, Illinois, Virginia, the District of Columbia, and Maryland. In addition to active participation in the chamber, Kevin regularly publishes employment related articles in trade publications and speaks at various seminars regarding labor & employment matters.

Kurt Frogale, Chair, Business Development 

Kurt is the Vienna Store Manager for the Commerce Bank on Maple Ave. that had its grand opening Jan. 13. He has been in retail banking for the past 6 years and has built his clientele by focusing on personal relationships and helping them with their financial and credit goals. He believes that it is only through listening to his customers concerns that an appropriate and effective strategy for their finanaces can be determined. Kurt was born in Salt Lake City, Utah but was raised in Fairfax, Virginia. He graduated from James Madison University with a degree in Biology, Pre-Med.

Kurt serves as the Director of the Business Development Committee of the Vienna-Tysons Regional Chamber of Commerce. He is also active with Business Development International and has applied to represent the VTRCC on the Town of Vienna Business Liaison Committee.

Kurt and his wife Jamie have been married for six years and have a 1-1/2 year old son named Vincent. In his free time he likes to play on a men's baseball league, golf and spending time with his family.

Rebecca Diamond, Fundraising Activities Chair

Rebecca Diamond is the Community Relations Director for Tysons Dodge Jeep, Tysons Corner, Virginia. Tysons Dodge Jeep is owned by the parent company Southern Hospitality Automotive Group from Chesapeake Virginia. Prior to joining Tysons Dodge Jeep, Rebecca was an independent finance and insurance consultant for automobile dealerships—offering finance and insurance training to employees, working in finance offices to improve income potential and consulting dealers on finance processes. With over 20 years in the Automobile industry ranging from selling cars to financing them Rebecca is happy to be a part of the Tysons Dodge Jeep/Southern Hospitality family.

Rebecca is the proud mother of 3 active children, Steven 15, Andi 12 and Abby 4. She was on the Board of Directors of the Reston Raider Hockey Club from May 2002-May 2005, VP of the Gesher Jewish Day School PTO 2004-2005 school year and currently is the Team Manager for her sons Virginia Statesman Junior C Minor Hockey team.

Rebecca/Tysons Dodge Jeep is a member of the Vienna Tysons Chamber of Commerce, Greater Merrifield Business Association, Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce, Mclean Chamber of Commerce and Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce. She sat on this years 2005 Halloween Parade committee, is a member of the VTRCC Membership committee, and volunteers on various other committees and charities.

Barbara McHale, Chair, Youth & Education

Barbara McHale of Long and Foster Realtors came to real estate from a varied background. After graduation from Radford University Barbara taught history and English for a year in Chestertown, Maryland before moving to Washington, DC, to work as a publications editor for the Army Surgeon General. Marriage and motherhood sent Barbara back to study to be a Montessori teacher at the Washington Montessori Institute. After graduation she taught at Green Hedges School in Vienna and in 1983 she began her real estate career. .

Barbara is deeply dedicated to her community and its young people. She was the chair person of VTRCC’s Youth and Education Committee from 2000-2003 and a VTRCC Board member. She enjoys working with the area educators and the experience has given her a better understanding of Fairfax County’s schools. She, also, is a Past President Vienna Optimist Club. In 2002 Barbara was honored by the VTRCC as business person of the year.

Barbara and her family have lived in Vienna since 1972. She has been married to her husband Jack for 40 years and is the mother of four children and three grandchildren. She enjoys travel, reading and theater. Barbara is a member of the Northern Virginia Association of Realtors Pioneer Club, a life member of the Multi-Million Dollar and Top Producer Clubs and a member of the NVAR’s Community Outreach Committee. Barbara enjoys living and working in Northern Virginia and introducing her buyers to the Vienna community. She feels it is the best place to live, raise a family, and to come home. To all she says, “Viva Vienna”! It’s the best.

Gina Cocomello, Chair, Non Profit

Gina Cocomello is the Development Director for Alternative House. As the Development Director, she is responsible for special event planning, along with corporate and individual donor programs. Alternative House provides support to at-risk children, youth and families through counseling, shelter, crisis intervention and neighborhood outreach.  As a representative of Alternative House, Gina belongs to a number of professional organizations in Fairfax County. Outside of work, she also volunteers her time and skills for several community organizations. She is a past Board member of her Home Owners Association. Gina says, "I truly believe in giving back to the community where I live and work. I enjoy volunteer work and it feels good knowing I am contributing to the solution."

Originally from New York, Gina has lived in Northern Virginia long enough to consider this area her hometown. She lives in Fairfax with her husband David Patterson. Gina and her husband enjoy attending Community Theater in Northern Virginia and when they travel. Gina a former pottery student collects American handcrafted pottery. You will often see her shopping at local craft shows.

At Large Directors

Le-Ha Anderson

Le-Ha Anderson is Manager for Media and Community Relations for Dominion Resources Services, Inc. where she serves as the company spokesperson. She has been with Dominion since 1999. Prior to that, she was Vice President of Communications and Operations for the Columbia Lighthouse for the Blind in Washington, DC. From 1991-1994 she was the Program Director for Greater DC Cares, Washington’s leading coordinator of volunteerism and corporate philanthropy.

Le-Ha is a 2005 graduate of Emerging Leaders Institute through Leadership Fairfax and was elected by her classmates to the Executive Council. She is the incoming President of the Fairfax Partnership for Youth , and is Fundraising/Public Relations Chair of Cole’s Closet, a non-profit organization that supports families with children who are hospitalized. She is an At-Large member of the Vienna-Tysons Regional Chamber of Commerce board of Directors, chairs the Public Relations committee for the International Children’s Festival through the Arts Council of Fairfax, sits on the Volunteer Steering committee for Celebrate Fairfax, a charter member of the Asian Business Committee through the Dulles Regional Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Youth and Education Committee of the Vienna-Tysons Chamber of Commerce, serves as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Veronica’s Catholic Church, advises the Volunteer Council at Dominion and is a charter member of Dominion’s Diversity Council.

Le-Ha is a graduate of Connecticut College, located in New London, CT and has a dual B.A. in Psychology-based Human Relations and Child Development. She is of Vietnamese-Italian decent-born third of four children into a foreign-service family. Le-Ha has lived in Vietnam, Yemen, Kenya, the Philippines, England and Connecticut and now resides in Clifton, VA with her husband Steve and their three daughters, Amelia, Natalie and Miriam.

Matthew A. Brennan III, Esquire

Matthew A. (Matt) Brennan, III is a local attorney with the law firm of Brennan & Waite, P.L.C. He graduated from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1987 and has lived in the Vienna/Oakton area since that time. His law practice is dedicated to serving the needs of businesses, both large and small, and includes general civil litigation, debtor/creditor law, mergers and acquisitions, and general business law. Matt's professional experience includes complex commercial litigation and debtor/creditor law. For two years, he was employed in the general counsel's office of a regional corporation, where he managed corporate litigation and provided legal advice regarding operations. Matt practiced in a law partnership with Carol Waite from April, 1995 until her death in December, 2001.

Matt has been an active member of the Vienna-Tysons Regional Chamber of Commerce since 1995. He first served on the Board of Directors in 1995 as Director of Government Affairs and continued in that post until 1998. From January, 1999 to June, 2000, Matt served as Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Chamber. Matt is also active in the Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce where he is a member of the Public Policy Committee, chairman of the Ethics Day Program and a member of the Board of Directors. He was named the Reston Chamber’s Member of the Year for 2001-2002. He is an active member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Vienna, Virginia, where he was President of the Congregation from July, 2000 to July 2001 and where he sings with the contemporary Christian group Revelation. He has also been an active member in the Vienna Rotary Club Since 1995. He was President of the club for 2005-2006 and was the 2005-2006 Rotarian of the Year. Matt was a founder of the Ethics Day Program at George C. Marshall High School in 2000 and the Ethics Day Program at James Madison High School in 2001. He remains active with those programs, which have been staged annually since their inception.

Jim DiModica

Jim is the President & Founder APT Impact, Inc. He has also served as President of Focuspoint, Inc. and Director of Business Services, Grant Thornton LLP.

His affiliations include: Chairman of Membership Committee, NVTC; Board of Directors, Prince William Regional Chamber; President, BXG of Prince William; Active: Make-A-Wish, and Friends of the Foundation-PWHS.

Jim has been married to Christine for 10 years and has two children, Alexis and Nicholas.

Tom Hanton   

Tom currently works for Guernsey Office Products, which is a Full Service Office Supplies, Furniture, Promotional Products and Coffee/Beverage Service Company. He's been helping companies like (insert your company name here) to manage the number of vendors they deal with and to control purchasing costs for over 14 years.

Besides sitting on the Board at the VTRCC, Tom has served for multiple years as a board representative for his local HOA and also as the DC Chapter Leader for Radford University Alumni.

Tom has been married to his wife Dana (Langley H.S. grad & RU/G’Town grad) for 13 years and they have three children: Katie (11), Logan (7) and Brett (6). Both grew up locally (McLean for Dana and Vienna for Tom) and they currently live in Vienna because they love the schools, neighborhood and location.

As a family, the Hantons are often tied up with soccer, softball and baseball on the weekends. Friends are always welcome at their home, and Tom is rarely one to say no to a round of golf.

Jodi Scholes

Jodi Scholes owns and operates the Northern VA Massage Center. Opened in 1994 Ms Scholes manages a team of 10 CMTs and manages to save some time to work with personal clients. Jodi has been a member of the Vienna Tysons Regional Chamber of Commerce for 8 years. For her contributions to the Chamber and the community, Ms Scholes was recognized as Business Person of the Year in 2004.

Jodi and her staff take care of 100s of clients monthly and have volunteered massage therapy services for many charitable organizations. Some of those include The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Alzheimers Association, Gooddogz, Touchdown Club Charities, The Women’s Business Center of Northern Virginia and Lymphoma/Leukemia Foundation.

A personal story about Jodi dates back to 2001: During the week immediately following 9/11, Jodi had the privilege to work with the Massage Emergency Response Team at the Pentagon. She performed massage for rescue workers and emergency personnel at Ground Zero. She considers it a great honor to have been able to volunteer at Washington, D.C.’s disaster site.

Ms. Scholes is an active member of Rotary International, the National Capital Sports Massage Team, SOFTLY Intl., and volunteers at her local church thru a vision quest committee assisting with infrastructure development. Jodi was the official massage therapist of DC United, Major League Soccer from 1996-2004. She traveled with the team on many road trips, but none quite as exciting as the MLS Cup in 1996, 1997, 1999 and 2004 when DC United won Major League Soccer Championship for the fourth time. Jodi enjoys working with many different kinds of athletes and speaks at running clinics, conferences and local businesses to educate about the benefits of massage.

Jodi Scholes and the team at the Northern VA Massage Center have a commitment to the highest level of professionalism. The team of talented therapists work together to exceed their clients expectations. Jodi and her team enhance the lives of those they touch by helping them meet their physical, mental, emotional and spiritual goals.

Lilah Yosufy

Lilah Yosufy is the Regional Business Development Officer for Cardinal Bank in the the Tysons-Herndon corridor. She has been in retail banking in Northern Virginia for the past fourteen years. Her role with Cardinal Bank gives her the opportunity to work with and assist with the development of small to medium size as well as some large businesses in the area. She provides the crucial service of cash management allowing these businesses to use their assets to their fullest potential. She is dedicated to providing personal and caring service to help clients succeed in their financial and personal goals.

Graduating from Marymount University, Lilah's studies in Finance and Business equipped her with the tools to provide these services. She grew up in and currently lives in the Vienna area with her husband, Tony, and her two children, Gisele, and Kamran, which has allowed her insight into this competitive area.
