Maximize Your Exposure:
Be a Sponsor!

While individual networking is an important way to meet other Chamber members, being publicized as a sponsor of a Chamber event is a quick and easy way to reach out to many members and nonmembers. From educators to economists, or from golfers to gamblers, Chamber activities include many different people. Where would you like to see your company's name? There are sponsorships available to reach many varied audiences and to suit almost any budget! Below is a list of our more popular sponsorship opportunities. Call the Chamber office for more information.

Special Events

Fall Carnival (September 4-7, 2003):
For just $500, your business can be listed as a sponsor for one of Vienna’s most popular events. Sponsors will be listed on all promotional materials* except for the flyer distributed in schools. Plus, a table and two chairs will be provided at the event so you can greet visitors and hand out your company’s information.

Golf Tournament (October 10, 2003):
Title Sponsors – for $2,500, you will be recognized as the major sponsor on signage at the event. Plus you’ll get tournament registration for a foursome, a dinner table for eight, and 16 Raffle Tickets.
Eagle Sponsors – for $1,350 ($1500 after 8/1), you will get tournament registration for a foursome, Tee and Green Sponsorships, a dinner table for four, and 8 Raffle Tickets.

Halloween Parade (October 29, 2003):
In addition to last year’s sponsorship opportunities, we are seeking a Media Sponsor for $2,500 to fund the coverage of the Parade on Channel 10. The Media Sponsor will be recognized throughout all broadcasts of the Parade and in promotional materials* (except flyers distributed to schools).

Candidates Breakfast (October 16, 2003)
Businesses with legislative interests might be interested in sponsoring this special breakfast for Members to meet the Candidates. For only $300, your company’s name will appear on promotional materials* and you can attend the event as our guest (2 meals) to make a 3-minute presentation and hand out information about your business.

Chamber Days Sponsor (January 21, 2004)
Another wonderful legislative opportunity is to sponsor the annual trip to Chamber Days, where Members travel to Richmond together to talk to State Delegates. For $500, your company’s name will appear on promotional materials* and you can make a short presentation and hand out materials while you ride the bus with fellow Chamber members.

Look for information on sponsorships for "Casino Night & Taste of the Town " and the Tysons Business Forum in upcoming issues of The Enterprise.

Ongoing Opportunities

Monthly luncheons:
Harness the power of our monthly membership luncheon! For just $300, your company’s name will appear on promotional materials, our Web site, our calendar and The Enterprise. Then come to the event as our guest (2 meals), where you can hand out promotional materials and take a few minutes to talk about your business. (Price will vary for sponsorships for joint mixers. Contact office for details.)

Mixers:
For low cost with high visibility, consider hosting one of our monthly evening mixers. You provide the facility, food and beverages for 40-60 people. Your company’s name will appear on promotional materials* and your entire staff is welcome to attend at no cost.

Chamber Stars:
The Youth and Education Committee pairs accomplished students with supportive businesspeople through the Chamber Stars program. For each donation of $25, a student selected from a local elementary, middle or high school can choose $25 worth of books to add to their school’s library. The Sponsor and the student are remembered to all future readers of the books on personalized bookplates.

The Enterprise Newsletter
The Chamber’s monthly newsletter, The Enterprise, is published monthly online and as an eNewsletter, and is printed bimonthly for 7,500 residents and businesses in Vienna, Oakton, Tysons and Merrifield. Each of the four sponsors pays $2,500 per year and receives:

Message from the President

Dear VTRCC Members,

August 1 marks the end of our membership renewal period, and is the cut off date for inclusion in our 2004 Chamber Directory. If you have not yet paid your dues, do not mail a check: call the office with your credit card number to make your payment. As you are aware, the VTRCC has limited resources and a two-person staff. As your President, I strongly encourage you to call the office TODAY to let us know your intentions. By renewing on time, you will help keep our overhead down, prevent a waste of limited office resources, and allow us to continue to grow and improve the VTRCC. Please don’t delay and thanks for your continued support.

Don't miss our August luncheon at Paya Thai on August 14 or our Joint Evening Mixer with the McLean Chamber of Commerce on August 27 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the West Park Hotel. Our weekly TIP Groups will continue to meet every Tuesday and Friday, 12:30 at Shula's Steak House and a new TIP Group is forming on Thursdays. See below for details.

The VTRCC Fall Carnival, sponsored by American Express Financial Services, Ameritech Construction, Don's Johns, The Connection Newspapers, and Dominion Virginia Power, is scheduled for September 4-7 at Nottoway Park. Additional carnival sponsorship opportunities are available and volunteers are needed to help staff the information booth and assist with other related duties. Please call the Chamber office to volunteer for a three-hour shift or inquire about sponsorships. Remember to tell your friends!

The VTRCC Golf Tournament will take place on October 6 at Westwood Country Club. The field has started to fill up. However, there is still time left to enter your foursome. Sponsorship opportunities are available (see above article for details).

In order to grow our Chamber and implement programs of interest for our members, area businesses, and the community, I need your help. If you have any questions, suggestions, or ideas that you think the VTRCC should consider or if you would like to schedule a time to meet with me, please call 703-281-1333 or email me at gpowersjr@vtrcc.org. I am looking forward to hearing from area businesses and community members so that we can continue to improve the Chamber. Additional information about the Vienna-Tysons Regional Chamber of Commerce can be found online at www.vtrcc.org. Please remember to call the Chamber to RSVP for our events and activities.

I look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events.

Very truly yours,

Francis G. Powers, Jr.
President

The 57th Annual Vienna Halloween Parade

The 57th Annual Vienna Halloween Parade will take place on Wednesday, October 29. Participants will have the opportunity to salute local volunteerism with the theme "Celebrate our Volunteers: 100 Years of the Vienna Volunteer Fire Department." Former chiefs from the Vienna Volunteer Fire Department will serve as Grand Marshals.

Packages will be sent out to past participants in early September. If you wish to participate, but do not want to receive a package, please call 703-281-1333. Volunteers are needed to help with organization, crowd control and constructing a Chamber float. Anyone interested in helping or in serving on the committee should contact the Chamber office.

The Chamber staff and Parade organizers are excited to continue the long tradition of the Vienna Halloween Parade in 2003. The 2002 parade was cancelled for the first time in the parade's history due to public safety concerns about the at-large snipers. Committee News

Business Development Committee (Report by Bill Daly): The Business Development Committee met on July 24, 2003 and was well attended by an energetic and motivated group. We discussed many ideas to promote and enhance the services and products provided by the members of the Chamber and started mapping the strategy to move forward for the New Year. Significant efforts will be spent on the Thursday, October 2, 2003, Central Fairfax Chamber of Commerce Business & Technology Showcase at the Patriot Center, at which the VTRCC will have a kiosk that will be manned primarily by Business Development Committee members. The Committee is looking for additional volunteers to help at the booth and to move about the convention to discuss the Chamber’s activities and distribute information about the VTRCC.

The Committee further discussed ideas and activities to develop and encourage a good working relationship with the Town of Vienna, including publicizing a recently published guide to restaurants and lodging in the town and to possibly assist in expanding such efforts into a general retail guide. Additionally, the town is starting “town coffees” where business leaders and community members can meet and discuss common interests at informal breakfast meetings at Vienna coffee spots.

If you are interested in joining the Business Development Committee and participating in some exciting projects this year, please contact Chairperson Joan Fletcher at 703-273-9229, or Jfletcher@winningways.com. The monthly meetings for this Committee shall be on the fourth Thursday of every month at 8:30 a.m., at Bill Daly’s office 703-790-1911 in Tysons Corner.
