'Green' in Vienna
By Town of Vienna Mayor Jane Seeman
Green is the color of Vienna these days. Not the
color of money, but the green color of grass and
artificial grass.
The artificial turf on Waters Field at the corner of
Center Street S and Cherry Street SE is the result of
cooperation between the Babe Ruth Baseball League,
Vienna Youth, Inc., the Town of Vienna, and Fairfax
County. The artificial turf will allow play on the field
during all weather and will cut down on the
maintenance expense to the Town. If you haven’t
seen a youth sports event on that field, be sure to
stop by, see the kids play and see the field
improvement.
The other ‘green’ is the Town Green. The old Wright
Building is now demolished at the corner of Maple
Avenue and Mill Street, and the area is being
cleaned, graded and seeded in preparation for the
Town Green development. When completed in the
Spring 2007, the Town Green will be an oasis on busy
Maple Avenue. There will be a plaza, paths, seating
walls, a gazebo for entertainment, public restrooms,
the holiday tree, and a fountain. The area will be a
wireless communication zone. The Town Green will
provide a quiet respite from stress-filled lives and add
immeasurably to Vienna’s quality of life.

There are so many reasons why Tana should be
getting this honor, not the least of which is her
superb work to make our 2006 Casino Night the most
profitable one ever. Of course her work as Sr. VP of
Fundraising makes it possible for the Chamber to
exist financially and puts our name out there with
Fundraising Events that are the "places to be" in the
area. Behind the scenes she is inexhaustible in the
time and energy she gives and she never drops the
ball, although she juggles more than anyone else
could possible handle. Her ability to keep the big
picture in the forefront while never missing a single
detail is awesome and unequalled.
Tana spent seven years in the technology industry,
working both in sales and business development.
Currently she is a Realtor with the Vienna Long and
Foster office on a team with her mother, Debbie
Earman and sister, Brett Cordeau. When employed at
Network Solutions, Tana was the Chairperson for the
Community Action Committee. The CAC gave her an
opportunity to work with many organizations, non-
profits, individuals and events within the Northern
Virginia communities and to help those in need.
Tana currently lives in Vienna with her husband Doug
and son Alex. She grew up playing Vienna sports and
attending Vienna schools. She cherishes the
memories the community has provided her and looks
forward to creating new ones with her own family.
