VTRCC’s Lunch and Lead Tips Groups are HOT!
Since it’s July, here’s a ‘hot’ tip for growing your
business through the Chamber: Check out our Lunch
and Leads Tips Groups that meet weekly on
Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:15 to 1:30 p.m. at
Morton’s-Tysons Corner. Leads from these groups
have generated more than $300,000 in income per
group for their members. Along with supplying
business leads, the groups offer an unparalleled
opportunity to learn and perfect your networking
skills.
The Tuesday Group, which has been around the
longest, has 14 members who generated over 750
leads in 2005. So far this year they have generated
480 leads. These are some serious networkers!
The Thursday Group, more recently established, has
18 members, many of whom are new to the concept
of networking. Last year they generated 450 leads,
and thus far this year have created more than 350
leads. This group is really growing, with some of the
Tuesday Group members also coming on
Thursdays.
Each group allows only one member per business
type, so be sure to check availability for you and
your business. Call Harvey Silverman (703-319-8806)
about joining the Tuesday Group; contact Christa
Walker (703-766-2300) about joining the Thursday
Group. If space for your business is available, you
better grab it!
Correction: In the 6/28/06
Enterprise, one of our new member's
information was run incorrectly. The corrected
information is as follows: Paetec Communications,

Member News
The law firm of Rees, Broome & Diaz, P.C.
recently provided pro bono support to the
Vienna-Madison Community Coalition (VMCC), a
school-community partnership which promotes a
drug, alcohol and violence-free community. RBD
principal Bill Daly and associate Tiffany Burton
handled the group’s incorporation as a 501(c)3
nonprofit organization, which will enable it to
continue educating parents about drugs and alcohol,
and supporting teen programs such as All-Night Grad
and Ethics Day. VMCC President Sara Freund
commended the firm saying, “We could not have
selected a better partner to work with, and we are
most grateful for your efforts.”

Janice’s leadership of the Non-Profit Committee
would be enough to qualify her as a Member of the
Month. First as Secretary, and then as Chairman and
Board Liaison of the Committee, she has been a
driving force that has grown not only the numbers,
but the involvement of Chamber Non Profit members
to an all time high. Her commitment to the Chamber
reaches far beyond the Non Profit Committee; she
was a top recruiter of new members for the 2006
Membership Drive, volunteered as a dealer at Casino
Night; and has led the effort to form strategic
partnerships between the business and non profit
Chamber members.
Janice Holmblad was the Executive Director of the
Shepherd’s Center of Oakton-Vienna through June
2006, and remains a member of their Development
Committee. Her work experiences have been both
professional and volunteer. She was director of a
psychiatric half-way house and girls group home, and
