Message from the President
We’re getting back to business! September is full of
opportunities to enjoy yourself with the Chamber
while you grow your business, starting with the Fall
Carnival at Nottoway Park (9601 Courthouse Road in
Vienna). Look for our signs on Nutley St., Maple Ave.
and Route 66 directing you to a weekend of family
entertainment, located in an idyllic setting. The
festivities begin Thursday, 9/7 at 6 pm and go
through the whole weekend, ending on Sunday, 9/10
at 7 pm.
Be sure you don’t miss our Annual Golf Tournament
on 9/18 at Hidden Creek Country Club in Reston.
Showcase your business with a sponsorship, or get
up a foursome of prospects. The Shotgun start is at
8am, (7am registration). Enjoy the Awards Luncheon,
grab one of the many fabulous prizes and still have
time during the afternoon to close those deals!
Then join VTRCC, the Greater McLean Chamber and
PNA for our FREE “Farewell to Summer Networking
Extravaganza” at Tysons Dodge-Jeep on 9/20, 5:30-
7:30 pm. (Live Music by Breakaway!, beer by Gordon
Biersch, wine by Vienna Vinters, and food from Mrs.
Robinson Cooks, Carvel/Cinnabon and Minerva’s
Restaurant.)

Homestretch invites you to a Discovery
Hour, Monday, September 18, 6:30-7:30 pm to learn
more about the issue of homelessness in the
community. Learn what Homestretch is doing to
eliminate the problem. This is an informational event;
you will not be asked to make a financial

Shepherd's Center of Oakton-Vienna
presents "Debi Smith in Concert" on September 23 at
7:00pm. This nationally known singer and songwriter
is a master of the Irish drum, and has performed to a
full house both at The Barns at Wolf Trap and The

Vienna Arts Society (VAS) main gallery (115
Pleasant St., NW in Vienna). Chamber members and
friends perused fine art, pottery, jewelry and other

Harvey A. Silverman, Esq., has been chosen as
Vienna-Tysons Regional Chamber of Commerce
Member of the Month not only for his dedicated
service to the Chamber as General Counsel since
2003, but also for founding and developing the
phenomenal Lunch and Lead Tip Groups that meet
weekly at Morton’s Steakhouse at Tysons Corner.
Many members have joined the Chamber originally
because of the Tip Groups and then have become
involved in other aspects of the Chamber. Last year
the Tip Groups generated more than $300,000 of
income for their members. Harvey’s hard work
provides benefits for the entire Chamber.
