Letter from the President
by VTRCC President Diane Poldy
As the Chamber continues on our steady path of
growth in membership and activities, our need for
technology is also growing. Steve Salley (Smith
Barney), VTRCC’s Vice President of Business
Development, is responding to the Chamber’s need in
this area by establishing a Technology Committee.
The goal of the Committee is to research and
implement ways technology can help us become more
productive and responsive to the needs of our
growing membership as well as the community.
Gary Moonan (Geeks On Call-Vienna East) will chair
the Committee. His goals include better visibility for
the Chamber through technology, implementing e-
commerce on our Web site, and software systems
research and analysis. This is a very exciting and
challenging step forward, and we need the help of
members who are willing to contribute their expertise,
time and commitment. The opportunities for
Committee members to give a little to the Chamber
and get a lot back are boundless.
If you are able to contribute your ideas, skills and
resources to this next phase of growth for the
Chamber, please email Gary Moonan at gary.mo
onan@geeksoncall.com. Our motto says, “We’re
not just talking about the future, we’re shaping it.” I
hope you’ll join us as we do it!

When the Cold War Museum opens on an old

entirely of Legos (20,736 of them to be precise) will
be ready to go. Cold War Museum founder Gary
Powers, whose father was the famous U-2 pilot shot
down over the Soviet Union in 1960, commissioned
the work after seeing other works done entirely in
