VTRCC’s “How-To” Series: 2006 Success, 2007 Plans
VTRCC’s latest success story is the continuing
strength of our “How-To” Series– bimonthly
workshops created to provide Chamber members of
all levels (self-employed, start-ups, management)
with simple, effective strategies to improve some of
the most common and challenging aspects of building
and running a business.
The workshops are produced by the VTRCC Business
Development Committee, under the leadership of
Steve Salley (Smith Barney). Topics have
included “Marketing on a Shoestring
Budget”, “Improving Your Sales & Contact
Management”, “How to be a High Performance
Networker”, and “Boost Your Business with Low-Cost
High-Tech."
Coming this Friday, November 3, we
present “Financing Strategies Using SBA Loans”.
Salley says the goal is “to have each person in
attendance leave with several practical ideas and
tips that they could easily implement into their
business.” It will be held at noon Friday at Jammin’
Java in Vienna; RSVP at www.vtrcc.org
/rsvp.htm
With a planned expansion of the program in 2007, the
Business Development Committee welcomes input on
subjects and formats for another exciting and
educational year. Contact Steve Salley at 703-761-
2737 or
stephen.j.salley@smithbarney.com. New
committee members are always welcome!

CORRECTION: In our
last "Message from
the Chairman," VTRCC Chairman Billy Thompson
mistakenly identified Alissa Locke’s company. She is
with State Farm Insurance. He offers an apology and
thanks Alissa again for her hard work on the 2006
Carnival committee.
