Farewell from the Chairman
by Billy Thompson, All Star Movers

In January, Joan Fletcher of Winning Ways Inc. will be installed as the new Chairman of the VTRCC. Joan and I have worked closely together over the last year and a half and I am very confident that the Chamber will continue to grow and prosper under her leadership and talent! The 2005-2006 board has worked as a unit to provide a growing and stable organization:

• VTRCC luncheons and mixers have been fantastic with great topics and speakers, and record-setting attendance.
• Our work with NonProfits has been tremendous; there are now more than 25 members of the NonProfit Committee.
• The “How-To Series” has prospered, educating us on various professional topics.
• Fundraising Committee Chair Tana Keeffe led us in social events that provided the capital needed to continue our outstanding services.
• Membership has grown, especially at Tysons Corner, but the Chamber continues to maintain a “hometown” feeling.
• The 60th Annual Halloween Parade was an extraordinary event.

All of this could not have been possible without Chamber President Diane Poldy and Office Manager/Director of Events, Toni Antonucci. In just their first year on the job, they’ve demonstrated promising leadership and dedication. I would also like to thank the members and volunteers for their enthusiasm. I have been proud to serve and represent our Chamber and look forward to seeing you at future events!

Greg Bauer did a phenomenal job recruiting, scheduling and supervising volunteers for the Annual Carnival in September, distinguishing himself as a key member of the Chamber. He is a great example of a member maximizing membership investment in the Chamber, and we are honored to be able to recognize his contributions.

Greg Bauer is a Partner of Vienna Lending Group, a residential mortgage brokerage firm specializing in residential and commercial loans, wealth management, investments, retirement planning, and 401(k) plans.

Prior to the mortgage business, Greg spent 15 years working as a staffing consultant for companies such as Intel, Nextel, and GTSI. Five years ago, he started to invest in real estate and really enjoyed real estate finance, so he started a firm with a friend who had a banking background. Together they formed Vienna Lending Group in 2005.

Greg has lived in Vienna since 2000, when he relocated from Phoenix with Intel. His wife Lisa runs an endermologie center in Reston called Body Elements. They have two little girls, Faith and Sara.
