As a representative of the voice of business in the
Vienna-Tysons community, the Vienna-Tysons
Regional Chamber of Commerce joins the Greater
McLean Chamber of Commerce and a growing list of
businesses and individuals in the community in
supporting
TysonsTunnel.org, a grassroots movement
requesting that Governor Kaine and the
Commonwealth of Virginia reconsider options for
Metrorail in the Tysons Corner area. VTRCC is
overwhelmingly in favor of a tunnel approach to the
project that will connect Dulles International Airport
with DC and Reagan National Airport.
A Tysons Tunnel Town Hall 2 will convene in Vienna
at The Barns at Wolftrap at 7 p.m. on Monday,
December 4. Experts and community representatives
supporting the tunnel option will present research
and information detailing the desirability and
feasibility of this alternative to the planned overhead
rail approach. We encourage all of our members to
attend. Bring your questions and concerns; the panel
of experts will be available and willing to address
them. Hear what other businesses and citizens think
about this issue which is so critical in shaping the
Changing Face of Tysons Corner and the surrounding
community.
VTRCC will also sponsor a free breakfast seminar at 8
a.m. on November 30 at FCEDA (see above) where
contractors and planners for the current overhead
Metro option and the Tysons Center Expansion will
present their plans, including the effects they believe
these plans will have on real estate trends in the
Tysons area. Contact the VTRCC office to RSVP for
the Breakfast and mark your calendar to attend the
Tysons Tunnel Town Hall Meeting 2. Both are free
and will provide essential information regarding this
issue so critical to doing business in our
community.

supporters, visit
