Vienna Halloween Parade Cancelled
Vienna, VA (October 21, 2002) – The Town of Vienna released the following statement this morning:
"The annual Vienna Halloween Parade, scheduled for Wednesday evening, October 23, has been canceled. The Town of Vienna has decided not to hold this year's event out of concern for the safety of participants and spectators."
Immediately following the Town's announcement, the Vienna-Tysons Regional Chamber of Commerce added:
"Dear Members:
"In order to recognize our Parade Sponsors, the Town of Vienna, the Halloween Parade Committee, and all of the people who helped in the planning, we will be hosting our Halloween "Parade" mixer at SunTrust Bank (515 Maple Ave., East next to Anita's) from 5 - 7 PM on October 23. RSVP's are required by 5 PM on Tuesday October 22. Please send an email or call the Chamber office at (703) 281-1333 to RSVP.
"As a result of the cancellation of the 56th annual Vienna Halloween Parade, the Town of Vienna, the Vienna Tysons Regional Chamber of Commerce, and Patrick Henry Library will distribute Halloween Goody bags to the first 500 children who stop by the Patrick Henry Library before 9 PM on October 31. Patrick Henry Library is located at 101 Maple Ave, East in Vienna, Virginia. Their hours of operation are Monday - Thursday from 10 AM to 9 PM, Fridays from 10 AM to 6 PM, and Sundays from 10 AM to 5 PM.
