FOR

Member
of the Month Program Re-Vamped!
The
VTRCC Member of the Month has always been a fun “random selection”
process, with honorees chosen by drawing a business card from the hat
at the monthly networking mixer. The Board of Directors recently decided
to instead use the Member of the Month program to thank those Chamber
members who have consistently gone “above and beyond” the
call of duty. Members will be selected based on their level of involvement
with the Chamber and the community at large. Any
VTRCC member can nominate another member by alerting the President or
an Executive Committee member of a deserving individual. The
Executive Committee has the final say in selection, and members can
receive this distinction no more than once every two years.

At
the beginning of 2006, Dennis and Connell's Valet celebrated their
50th year as a member of the Chamber--making them the longest-running
member in our history! We honor Dennis not only for this distinction,
but for his constant support of our events. We look forward to
another 50 years... at least!
After an extended tour in Viet Nam with the U.S. Army's 75th Infantry,
Dennis returned to his home town of Vienna where he grew up. In
1976 he took over full operations of Connell's and has tried to
continue with the same level of service and commitment that he
inherited.
From 1980-91 he also operated Clear Sky Adventures, a hot-air
balloon ride business, in the skies of Prince William, Fauquier,
and Loudoun counties. Over the eleven years, he logged about 700
balloon rides and tethers.
Dennis
has two daughters, Lori and Elizabeth, both of Manassas, Va. Current
hobbies are biking and kayaking in the local parks and waterways.
Dennis and Melanie Steinberg make their home in Vienna.

Steve
was awarded member of the month for his consistent "behind
the scenes" help with labor on the Halloween Float year after
year, assistance at chamber mixers and other chamber related events.
Not one to actively seek the limelight, Steve's presence is a
testament to those who seek to give in ways which may not always
be obvious...from the heart.
Steve's
job junction at BB&T is "trouble shooter." He identifies
and resolves problems with the on-line systems which allows the
programming development staff to concentrate on improvements which
will enhance our client’s experience with us. He also designs
and implements enhancements to internal processes and procedures.
Steve was with First Virginia Bank when BB&T took over, and
his combined years of service is 26.
Currently
active in several areas with Reston Bible Church, Steve's most
notable involvement is his past 10 years with the annual Easter
presentation-- most recently as a co-producer. He has three children,
and has refereed soccer games for 10 years, coached soccer occasionally,
been a basketball scorekeeper and driven to most of the soccer
fields in Virginia and Maryland. Steve has been treasurer and
president of homeowner associations and held various comparable
positions within the church. "I currently enjoy working with
all the great Chamber folks, but most of all, I enjoy spending
time with my granddaughter!" |

Patrick
is being honored for his volunteer work relative to website updates
such as the eCalendar updates, addition of banner logo’s
and eCommerce functionality and his general good humor!
At the age
of 9, Patrick King began his career in graphic design by designing
his first logo for the family business. Starting his own design
company, ImagineDesign, was a logical step for Patrick. With a
focus on meeting the needs of small businesses, ImagineDesign
is a provider of marketing solutions for both web and print. Patrick
wanted to bring his business to an area that had a high concentration
of small businesses and strong community feel. Vienna was an obvious
choice. Community involvement has long been important to Patrick.
One visit to the Chamber of Commerce convinced him that he should
join and become an active member. Impressed with the organization,
he continues to offer his expertise in design to a number of Chamber
projects. |
