Wendy Gradison, President and CEO of PRS, Inc. has been named a winner of the 7th Annual Gelman, Rosenberg & Freedman EXCEL Award. Wendy and two other nonprofit leaders received the honor at the Center for Nonprofit Advancement’s Annual Celebration breakfast held at the Columbus Club in Union Station on October 18. The EXCEL award recognizes Washington-area nonprofit chief executives who have demonstrated leadership excellence in the areas of innovation, motivation, community building, ethical integrity and strategic leadership. Administered by the Center for Nonprofit Advancement, this competition is open to any chief executive of a Greater Washington-area nonprofit organization with an annual budget of $10 million and under. Over 100 nominations were received this year. PRS provides intensive skills training and supports to persons living with severe mental illnesses (such as schizophrenia, bi-polar disorder or major depression), mild intellectual disabilities, substance use disorders or pervasive developmental disorders (such as Asperger’s Disorder), to help them achieve personal wellness, recovery and community integration.
