The ViennaTysons Regional Chamber of Commerce (VTRCC) serves nearly 500 businesses in Vienna, Tysons Corner, Oakton, Merrifield and Dunn Loring. Our mission is to provide a strategic link between businesses and the community through community engagement, networking, special events, marketing, advocacy, education and political representation. We host numerous networking events, educational seminars, and mixers each month, as well as several large-scale, annual events.
Description:
VTRCC seeks a part-time (15 hrs / week) Digital Communications Administrator. This person will perform website updates, database management, e-newsletter creation, etc. The position pays $15 per hour and the hours are flexible (per arrangement in advance with the President). The VTRCC office is a dynamic and social environment requiring strong interpersonal skills. A major perk of this position is daily interaction with Northern Virginia's business and community leaders. It is also a great opportunity to learn the operations side of a great non-profit organization. 1-year minimum commitment required.

Title: Executive Director
Organization: TYSONS PARTNERSHIP
Location: Tysons Corner, VA
Tysons Partnership, a new organization focused on advancing and sustaining Tysons Corner as Fairfax County’s vibrant, economically successful and diverse urban core, is seeking a hands-on, entrepreneurial leader to serve as its first Executive Director. The Executive Director will be responsible for developing the organizational infrastructure, creating strategic and operational plans, building consensus among diverse stakeholders, and overseeing the day-to-day fiscal and operational management of Tysons Partnership.
The Executive Director will establish the Tysons Partnership as a well-regarded entity that serves the needs of a diverse membership of business, government, and community leaders. The ideal candidate will have experience launching or growing an organization, an understanding of local economic development and urban planning issues, a proven ability to build consensus among diverse stakeholders, and a successful track record of creatively generating revenue for a nonprofit or membership organization. As the first staff member during this next phase of growth, the candidate must be comfortable wearing many hats, rolling up his or her sleeves, and working creatively with a variety of external partners.
This is a full-time, salaried position that reports to the Tysons Partnership Board of Directors.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide professional leadership to Tysons Partnership members to foster the presence and influence of the Tysons Partnership to the Tysons Partnership community;
- Coordinate substantive and value added input to county and other processes affecting Tysons Partnership’s interests; facilitate the development of consensus around the important issues of the day;
- Create a 3-year business plan that outlines the organization’s strategic and operational goals; the plan will include a detailed funding strategy; work collaboratively with the Board to ensure plan’s support;
- Work with Tysons Partnership Council Chairs on various Council activities;
- Prepare notice, reports, press releases, minutes, memoranda, and other materials to further Tysons Partnership initiatives, programs, and events;
- Build positive, effective working relationships with County staff, business, and community leaders and local and state elected officials;
- Establish the organization’s infrastructure, systems, policies, and processes;
- Develop a marketing and outreach plan to engage and build consensus among diverse stakeholders in business, government, and the community; implement the plan by serving as the primary ‘face’ of Tysons Partnership to external audiences;
- Develop a membership strategy and operational plan that includes clear metrics for recruiting and retaining members;
- Develop a diversified fundraising strategy that includes clear, achievable, and measurable goals for generating revenue;
- Manage all administrative aspects of the organization’s operations, including budget planning and execution, invoice payments, external account management and business and tax filings;
- Serve as a member of the Board of Directors.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 10 years of professional experience;
- Proven experience working in local economic development, commercial real estate, urban planning, or related fields;
- Experience interacting with government agencies;
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with significant public speaking, media and public relations experience;
- Demonstrated relationship-building skills; a reputation for strong diplomacy skills;
- An entrepreneurial spirit with previous experience in a start-up or small, high-growth organization;
- Enthusiasm, a spirit of adventure, and an appetite for risk;
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and stay organized in a fast-moving environment;
- Proven success in fundraising and event management
About The Tysons Partnership
The Tysons Partnership was formed in early 2011 for the purpose of advancing and sustaining Tysons Corner as Fairfax County’s vibrant, economically successful and diverse urban core. The Partnership is the means by which all Tysons stakeholders can participate in making the collective vision of Tysons a reality. Membership in the Partnership is open to organizational entities that are either located or own property in Tysons Corner. These include landlord/developers, employers, retailers and hospitality service providers and resident associations. In addition, Tysons Partnership has an associate membership category that allows non-voting participation by civic/homeowners associations located within a one-mile radius of Tysons and providers of professional consulting services relevant to the Partnership’s mission.
